Mr. Dombowsky has more than 20 years experience in the international direct insurance and reinsurance business. In 2014, Mr. Dombowsky co-founded Knighthead Annuity & Life Assurance Company and served as its Chief Executive Officer until June 30, 2023. During this period, Mr. Dombowsky successfully drove the company’s expansion in the reinsurance and direct life and annuity segments, growing the firm from a start up to a company that today has nearly $5 Billion of assets, capital of $500 Million and “A” category ratings from multiple rating agencies. Mr. Dombowsky began his career in commercial credit with RBC Financial Group in locations across Canada and the Caribbean before assuming executive level positions with insurance and reinsurance companies located in the United States and Bermuda. Mr. Dombowsky holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics from University of Regina (Canada) and an M.B.A. from the University of Miami where he was recognized as class valedictorian.
