Gemel Sobers is Director Corporate Banking with CIBC FirstCaribbean and provides client coverage for Cayman, British Virgin Islands and the Dutch Caribbean.  He has been involved in a number of corporate financing transactions for commercial real estate development, infrastructure, renewable energy and sovereigns.   As part of his responsibilities, he is involved in working with clients to ensure that relevant ESG considerations, consistent with the Bank’s standards, are being considered in their financing proposals. Gemel has worked in the financial services industry for about 20 years and is based in the Cayman Islands.
