Louise Somers is the head of compliance in the Cayman Islands Department for International Tax Cooperation, a position she has held since 2019. She has responsibility for compliance functions across all tax information reporting and exchange mechanisms, and for ensuring their effectiveness in line with international standards. Louise and her team also manage and administer the legal framework for economic substance requirements, including the conduct of assessments and reviews. A key member of the management team, Louise contributes to engagement with the international standard setting and review bodies on tax matters.

Louise is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and of the Irish Tax Institute. She has worked in the public and private sectors in Ireland and the Cayman Islands for over 12 years.
