Deanna is a Client Director at IQ-EQ Cayman. With over 30 years of financial services experience, 20 of which have been directly based in the Cayman Islands, she is a Chartered Accountant, with considerable experience in the investment management, regulatory compliance and banking fields. Deanna provides directorship, trusteeship and regulatory compliance consulting to a broad range of regulated and unregulated investment funds, private equity funds, family offices and management companies.

Working alongside institutional, boutique and emerging market alternative fund managers, Deanna’s experience encompasses operation of investment funds and alternative structures throughout their life cycle. Deanna has acted on behalf of the trustee of both commercial and private trusts and acts in the role of both protector and enforcer.

Prior to joining IQ-EQ Cayman, she was Managing Director at Trident Trust Cayman and Executive Director at Intertrust. Before relocating to the Cayman Islands, Deanna was the Controller of a mortgage investment corporation, operating both a collective investment trust and a mezzanine financing entity.

She managed the risk and compliance, finance, treasury and mortgage administration functions for the company and investment trust developing the firm’s risk and compliance policies in compliance with multi-jurisdictional regulators. As the senior finance member, she participated in the lending committee whose function was to evaluate and approve commercial investment proposals and advise in corporate and private investor matters.

Since beginning her career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, she has gained invaluable experience in the fields of audit, finance and restructuring as well as transactional support.

Deanna holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a joint major in accounting and economics, from Simon Fraser University, a Diploma in International Trust Management, and Advanced Certification in Anti-Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism and Countering Proliferation Financing. She is a Chartered Director.
