Paul Byles is Director of FTS, which provides regulatory and economic consulting services. He is a former director of a big four consulting firm. He has carried out dozens of economic impact studies at both the sectoral and individual project levels, including several major real estate developments. His experience as an economic advisor includes drafting a five year economic development plan for the Cayman Islands, development of an inward investment framework, assessing the impact of COVID-19 on the Cayman Islands economy, drafting as well as strategic advice relating to Cayman’s tourism sector.

Paul has over 27 years of direct experience researching, analysing and strategy across a wide range of areas and with a strong emphasis on economics, financial services, regulation and public policy areas.

He is also a former President of the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, former chairman of the Cayman Islands Development Bank, former deputy Chairman of OfReg, former President of Rotary Club Central and current founder of the Cayman Islands Financial Services Institute.

He holds Masters Degrees in Economics from the London School of Economics and Birkbeck College in the UK.
